Lever/Lever
A lever is a rod that pivots around an object. When you apply force towards the end, the fulcrum is likely to turn in the direction the force is applied. This motion increases the applied force, allowing you to lift or move something that would require a greater amount of force if you were to apply directly to the load.
The distance between the fulcrum to the point where you apply the force determines the distance the lever can move. This is referred to as the mechanical advantage. The more the lever extends, the larger the advantage in terms of mechanical. You can calculate mechanical advantage by dividing the distance from fulcrum point to the point at which you are applying force by distance between the fulcrum's point and the end of lever.
Levers also have various effects based on how the forces are applied. For example a lever of class 2 is inclined to turn in the opposite direction to when the effort force is applied (like a teeter-totter). If you push the handle of a door and force it to open, the forces will cause rotational effects similar to this.
However, levers don't create energy. They simply multiply the force you exert by changing a small amount of effort applied over a long distance into a larger amount of force that is applied over a smaller distance. This is what enables you to do more work in less time, which is why levers are often employed to lift heavy objects or moving large amounts of cargo. This is also the basis behind levers found in many everyday tools like crowbars, fishing rods, claws for hammers and even your legs when you sit on the hand brake of your vehicle.
Lever/Pad
Lever pad handles, also known as upvc door handles feature levers on both sides to operate the multipoint locks. These are available in various finishes and variations and can be used on a variety of materials, including UPVC doors, Aluminium doors & Timber Doors. They are sold in pairs for the outer and inner door with spindles & screws included. They are also available in both handed and unhandled versions to suit different types of users.
These can be used to replace existing upvc door. The levers are raised to open all the multipoint locks, and the key is turned to close or unlock the door. They offer a little more security than standard lever door handles because locking is only done by the inside using a key.
They are not as safe as a cylinder lock, however they are a cost-effective way to provide extra security to your home. The only drawback is that they do not offer the same level of protection as a cylinder bolt, and therefore don't stop external access when the door is left open.

Lever/Snib

This type handle is also used in doors that are inside, such as bedrooms, where you might want to restrict access from the outside.
In some cases there are instances where snib buttons could cause problems, particularly in the case of older locks and doors that are bent. If the snib switch is accidentally pressed or by a person who isn't familiar with it, the door may slam and lock you out. Usually, you can still be able to get in by knocking the door frame or the letterbox, but this isn't the best option.

Lever/Moveable Pad
This popular handle style is commonly used on front doors. It has the advantage of preventing the door being opened without an outside key when the lock hasn't been deadlocked. This is accomplished through a 'pad' shaped external handle that locks into the gap between the handles and lock case to stop the latch from being pulled back or the door being opened.
This kind of handle is designed to fit uPVC doors with multipoint locks that operate with split spindle operations. This type of operation requires that the lever handle and external pad handle are both fitted to the same lock case. This can be a simple replacement of the current uPVC handle, however it may also require a lock case change or a brand new set to handle furniture.

Lever/Moveable Snib
Lever handles are one of the most commonly used types of upvc doors handles. They come in many designs. It consists of two inline handles that move and can be locked with either a key or thumbturn cylinder on the inside. A pad handle can be used as a substitute to lever or lever handles. It is made up of a fixed or moveable pad which can be used to operate the lock. These Fullex handles are sprung lever pads that have a snib that can be triggered to secure the latch.
